Walk around Chester Racecourse and reflect on a river; a Roman Port; a medieval city with riverside meadow; the mayor of Chester in 1539, Henry Gee; the influences of the Civil War and the Industrial Revolution; and today’s racecourse, founded 480 years ago, reputed to be the oldest in the world.

Meet outside the Holiday Inn Express, New Crane Street for this 90-minute tour, which includes steps. Takes place 21st June at 10.30am.
